A walk in the town with a guided visit to its Etruscan hypogeum, witnessing an origin of a human settlement here since milleniums, and a detailled explanation of the medieval center and the productive district activated by water mills in the pre-industrial Italy …
PROGRAM:
- Guided walk along tiny lanes and small squares in town
- Detailed explanation of local art, history and habits
- Visit to an ancient cellar in town and to charming water mills along a stream by the village
- Visit to the complex of the church in the ancient “castello” neighborhood and to underground Etruscan tombs
MEETING POINT:
Meeting with the guide every Monday at 09:25 am in front of the Tourist Information Point in Chianni, Piazza Bartoli 10, close to the town hall. Departure of the walk at 09:30 am.
A reservation is preferred but not compulsory.

This guided walking tour is free of charge as it is offered by the Municipality of Chianni in cooperation with the destination management company Arianna & Friends. The tour is led by a tour guide licensed for the territory of Pisa and its province.

In our tour we like showing you places off the beaten track and introducing you to Tuscan people with their personal stories, careers and characters. You will have one of our guides with your party during the whole tour. Please, see below all the guides who can be with you. This guided walking tour takes place in the small village of Chianni, in a rural area between Pisa and Volterra.
MEET-UP LOCATION:
The meeting point with the guide is in Chianni, in front of the Tourist Information Point, in Piazza Bartoli, at 09:25 am. The tour starts at 09:30 am.
DURATION:
This program takes 2 hours. Time for reaching the meeting point not included.

This tour is arranged every Monday morning from 26th June through 4th September 2023.

This program does not include transportation to the meeting point and is set on a self-driving base. For further information see the box "transportation options".
The destinations reached during this activity are all in the small village of Chianni and are reached on foot during our walking tour. In order to reach our meeting point in Chianni, visitors can drive a rented car or take a public bus. The meeting point of this tour is in front of the tourist information point. Parking in the village is signalled and easy.
