Every year the Tuscan town San Miniato, located halfway between Pisa and Florence, celebrates the National Festival of the White Truffle, an event that attracts thousands of truffle lovers and foodies from all the world.
The protagonist of the festival is the extraordinarily perfumed and world renowned White Truffle of San Miniato, along with a large number of other local specialities like excellent wines, extra virgin olive oil, pecorino cheese, honey, hams, salamis and other cold cuts, chocolate, bread & focaccia, pickles, preserves, cakes and many other curiosities.

On the last three Saturdays and Sundays of November every year you can taste and buy fresh black and white truffle and browse through the stands discovering an unnumbered series of truffle-based products like truffle oil, pastes and sauces, truffle salt and other preserves.

Our private guided tour of the White Truffle festival of San Miniato
We organize private guided tours to the Festival in San Miniato, with tasting of truffle based products and a delicious truffle based lunch or dinner.
Our expert local food guide will meet you at the parking area of San Miniato Basso and together you will reach the old town by shuttle bus. Once in the historical town, you will slowly walk around the old center of San Miniato through many food stands in all the squares of the old town. Your guide will show you and describe a great variety of cold meats, pates, sauces, breads and focaccia, cheeses, extra virgin olive oil, several very peculiar specialties including different sweets, cakes and of course wines. Of course you will be able to try many of these delicious items directly at the stands.
The guided tour goes on in the area of the stands of local black and white truffles. You are going to meet the truffle hunters, and talk about their delicious truffle based products. You will have the chance to evaluate and buy fresh black and white truffles and other truffle based products, like truffle honey, truffle-based sauces and butter, truffle oil etc.. You’ll have also the chance to drink a few local wines at the wine tasting area.
In the end of the guided tour, your guide will accompany you to a local little restaurant where you will enjoy a memorable delicious dinner or lunch based on fresh truffles. The menu includes 2 dishes with the delicious black truffle and 1 glass of wine per person. All the rest is extra. Since white truffle rates change daily, if you want to have white truffles in one or both dishes instead of the black one, you can decide onsite and pay the difference directly to the restaurant according to the daily rates. It might quote between 10 and 20 euro per dish per person.
