Transfer services to Lajatico – Teatro del Silenzio 2024

Teatro del Silenzio is an open air theater just outside of Lajatico, a small village of 1,000 inhabitants in the heart of Tuscany, 45 kms from Pisa and 95 kms from Florence.

For the event about 12,000 people get there every year and private traffic is a major problem for the local authorities. Therefore, on the days of the event the village LAJATICO IS CLOSED TO PRIVATE TRAFFIC.

Private cars are forced to park in a huge parking area 3 km before Lajatico and visitors need to queue to take free public shuttle buses to Lajatico. The same experience takes place after the end of the event and queues continue for long time.

Only a limited number of licensed CARS, MINIVANS, MINIBUSES or BUSES LIKE OURS can get further to Lajatico and stop just before a completely pedestrian area connecting to the theater, where it is compulsory to walk.

Here all visitors are obliged to get off and access to the arena after a 15-minute walk down a little hill along a pedestrian pathway.

The easiest and most comfortable way to get to Lajatico without losing time in the traffic jam is by booking seats in our cars, minivans, minibuses or buses leaving from Pisa and Florence as well as from many other locations in Tuscany. You can rely on us because we are a Tour Operator based close to Lajatico and we help you solve any logistic problem to the concert.

Our cars, minivans, minibuses and buses are allowed to reach Lajatico. As a result, you will get off directly at the entrance of the pedestrian pathway leading down to Teatro del Silenzio.

Our operators will be at the venue to orientate you on the way from the bus stop to the arena and on the way back to your bus.

SURE! We have some tickets in the best areas of the arena and we can sell them only associated with our transfer services or with our Ticket + Transfer packages.

OF COURSE! We offer customized return driver services from any location in Tuscany and Italy to Lajatico on board luxury cars, vans for up to 7 people or  minibuses for up to 25 people for your private party.

By train + public bus + taxi
In order to get to Lajatico from Pisa or Florence you can take a train to Pontedera, i.e. the closest railway station to Lajatico, just 24 kms away. Pontedera is on the Florence-Pisa line. Here you can check the Italian Railway timetable. From Pontedera you can reach Lajatico by taxi or by bus. Here you can check the Local Bus Company timetable (route 500 Pontedera-Volterra). The bus service stops before 9 pm and the last train service runs at around 1:30 am in Pontedera. Taxis cost around 50 Euro one way from Pontedera railway station to Lajatico.
NOTE: There is a limited number of taxis serving from Lajatico on the way back after the concert. You might need to wait over 2 hours for the first taxis to be back in Lajatico from Pisa. Taxi drivers might also not want to come back to Lajatico late at night.

By rented car or by your own car
If you drive a car from Pisa take the freeway FI-PI-LI in the direction of Florence. If you drive from Florence take the freeway FI-PI-LI in the direction of Pisa. In any case get to the exit Pontedera. Here follow the signs to Volterra. After about 23 kms you reach the small village La Sterza where the concert organization is arranging a huge parking area. From La Sterza you can take a shuttle service to the theater and back. It is advisable to get to the parking area at least a couple of hours in advance due to highly possible congestion problems on the road to Lajatico.

We sell tickets to the event in the best sectors of the arena. Our tickets for the event are on sale only if associated with our Ticket + Transfer packages.

WE DO NOT SELL TICKETS ONLY

SURE! We can send you a nice gift card in the form of a voucher with concert tickets, accommodation and transportation (upon request) from your accommodation premises to the concert and back. This is an original idea for an unforgettable gift.

There is no dress code officially but most people get there in elegant suites and dresses. Remember that the arena is in the middle of the countryside in an unpaved soil, so comfortable shoes might help.

Though unpredictable until a few days in advance, the season is usually hot and dry during the days of late July or early August. Yet, because the arena is on a hilltop in a breezy region not far from the coast, it is probable that temperatures get chilly during the evening. We recommend checking the weather forecast before departing.

We came to Tuscany to hear the ‘Last’ performance of Andrea Bocceli and our accommodations were booked by a wonderful agency Arianna & Friends who at the time we did not know and had no idea as to what our hotel in San Gimignano would be like!
From the moment we arrived at the Relais Santa Chiara we were enchanted – by the setting, the service, the room and the tranquility……not to mention the convenient proximity to everything….it could not have been better. As they say “you can’t improve upon perfection” We would definitely return to Relais Santa Chiara…truly a gem!

We are now back in England, and reflecting on the marvellous evening we were experiencing last night. We all thought the 2nd half of the concert was particularly good and spectacular.
We enjoyed our stay again at the hotel/B&B in Palaia. Please thank Massimmo for his kind recommendation of the restaurant in Peccioli (correct?) off the square – we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch there, but were sorry to discover that we missed Karine who was eating in there too…. we would like to have met!
Our only sadness was that we did not have such good seats as last year and we are not sure why that was, bearing in mind we did book up around November time (8 months before the event)?
We were right under one of the lighting scaffolds which were completely off centre of the stage which was a big disappointment. I know there is nothing that can be done about it now but we felt we wanted to let you know that we were annoyed about this part of our ‘package’.
We were so glad that the weather held for the evening, despite the rain earlier in the afternoon, and it was a great temperature throughout the evening.
Another great experience – we will wait to see if that really is the FINALE?!!

We are now sadly back home in Wales after another truly wonderful break in beautiful Tuscany. Everything was perfect thanks to your efforts and we just wanted to thank you most sincerely for arranging things so that we could relax and enjoy our holiday without having to worry about a thing. The view from the hotel in Volterra was breathtakingly beautiful, I never tired of looking at it and the concert was absolutely fantastic, Andrea was in fine voice and the atmosphere was just magical. We all, of course, liked the Lajatico concert. It was so beautiful and enjoyable. We liked the whole programme.
I was so happy to hear “Miserere”. The piece is one of my favorites after I heard it through internet years ago, Bocelli and Zucchero singing first time together, I guess.The evening was unforgettable, once again. We feeled, anyhow, quite melancholy because it was the last one in Lajatico.
Tuscany is wonderful. We were quite pleased to have our accommodation in Volterra, the beautiful old city in Tuscany. What a city ! The location of the hotel was quite excellent for us.
We also liked the walking tour you organized for us. Thanks to our excellent guide, we really liked her. So much we learned about the Etruskan museum.

Now we are looking for the upcoming concerts of Andrea Bocelli in Europa. We also dream of travelling in the beautiful Tuscany once again.

When we attended the Andrea Bocelli concert, there were a number of small airplanes flying around the area.
My husband has his own plane and flies regularly so this obviously interested him as he would love to fly over the beautiful countryside.
Do you know which airport these planes would have flown from? If you do, please would you let me have their details and if they rent out planes to visiting pilots. Perhaps flying holidays are something you already arrange for people visiting Tuscany?
I should also be grateful if you would let me know if Andrea Bocelli is expected to perform again at Lajatico next year.

It has been two weeks now since we returned from our lovely holiday in Italy but sadly I had to come home to the funeral of a very dear friend (we started school together aged 3) and whose sudden death I heard of the night before the concert, so please forgive the lateness of this email.

Our stay at Alberto’s was so much more than we had expected. After a very long, enjoyable but tiring drive we were welcomed very warmly by the family who helped carry our baggage up several flights of stairs and after sitting in a car for the best part of three days this was quite a shock to the system, especially in the late afternoon heat. Alberto was very helpful, especially his understanding of English. Carla’s breakfasts and buffet were plentiful and delicious and sustained us for the rest of the day. How very lucky this family is to live surrounded by such beautiful Tuscan countryside.

We would like to say a big thank you to you, Karine, for arranging this trip for us and we were honestly quite amazed at how smoothly the task of getting thousands of people to and from the Teatro del Silenzio was dealt with by everyone. I wanted to say hello to you in the car park but you were already engrossed in conversation, so hopefully another time. The concert was of course truly spectacular and I and others really hope that in time some other event with Andrea singing there will happen.

We will return to Tuscany and when we do we will be sure to call upon your services again, so in the meantime, very many thanks…

I am now home in Australia after a magical holiday. My favourite place is Tuscany and favourite people are all of you…Veronica, Adrianna, Massimo, Counsello and Diego you made my holiday in Tuscany more than I could have ever dreamt of. Time really stood still in Tuscany, I felt like the wonderful time would never end.

Lots of laughing, magical moments, friendships created and sharing your good wishes and humour will last a lifetime. I hope we can all meet again and share some more “mucho bellissimo” times with you that may be in Australia or in Italy.

We remember all of you also with tenderness and affection, and we are happy to be able to call you our friends, you are a really wonderful group of people.

Everyone we met, the wonderful things we saw, Andrea Bocelli’s rehearsal and concert and our trip to the Bocelli cantini and then on the Volterra for more hospitality and Damiano playing the violin by the poolside. meeting more lovely people and enjoying a true Tuscan meal surrounded by good friends and new friends are moments to be treasured.

After all our emails and chats on the telephone it was great to meet up with you both. Thank you so much for helping make our holiday in Tuscany so special by organising hotel arrangements, concert tickets, tour guides and cooking lessons. The hotel in Pisa was ideal, especially the interconnecting family rooms, the price was even cheaper than we would have got going direct to the hotel. The position was perfect too as only a 15 minute walk to the piazza. We arrived before midday and they even let us book in to our rooms and park the cars. Later we tried the restaurant in the hotel – very interesting and delicious menu!
The tickets for the Andrea Bocelli concerts gave us superb viewing for both nights so thanks again.
The Vinci tour was most interesting and we much enjoyed having the lunch at the wine loft, the children loved looking behind the scenes!
We have all come home with lots of wonderful memories including the recipes from our cooking course with Licia – what a lovely lady: so kind, patient and welcoming. It was a great honour to be invited into her home. You will be pleased to hear we have made all the recipes at home – I bought some Alchermes in Lajatico so we can make the salamino pudding authentically!

Hello from your friends in Canada. Thank you so much for such a wonderful adventure while in Tuscany. The primary focus was on seeing Andrea Bocelli which did not disappoint at all. It was fabulous. We expected that. What we did not expect was such a wonderful time when not at the concert.

My wife and I stayed at Alessio’s with friends for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in July 2010. Margherita and Giacomo provided the best service a person could ask for at the onsite restaurant (thank you very much for the reservations, service, advice, etc as you helped make this a wonderful stay). The atmosphere more than met my expectations to make me feel what 5 days in Tuscany should be (relaxing, stress less and enjoyable). All the local sites are within an easy drive (Pisa, Livorno, Volterra, and Bologna) with no issues on the roads. Ask for a room overlooking the main entrance / bell tower if they are available. The food was quite good and the cleaning staff looks after you very well. On Saturday night there was a really nice local market brought to the hotel where you can buy / taste local products.
